Kate Warner has been practicing as an architect on Martha’s Vineyard since 1987 and started her own practice in 1992 in West Tisbury. She designs energy-conscious houses that respect the Vineyard landscape and vernacular.
She is an advocate of a team approach to house construction that encourages the inclusion of the builder from as early in the project as possible. She has worked with a number of island contractors including: ICMC, Patrick Mitchell, Larry Schubert, Bill Dreyer, Rick Colson and others.
She also collaborates with Gino Mazzaferro of ICMC to offer complete design-build services.
"It is my dream that all people who love the Vineyard will do what they can to tread lightly on this special place, and use its resources and energy in such a way as to minimize their own footprint on the Earth." Kate Warner
